UPDATE: a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old who cannot be named are currently facing several charges after this incident. Both youth will make their first court appearance on December 8.
UPDATE: The “secure-the-building” mode has been lifted from F.W. Johnson Collegiate at 2:30 p.m.
Regina police currently have a high school in the east end of the city under “secure-the-building” mode.
F.W. Johnson Collegiate was put in secure-the-building mode at 10:15 a.m. CST after a possible threat came in the form of a comment made in a conversation.
Police said even though the comment was vague, they are taking it seriously and are investigating.
Officers are currently at the high school and other officers are headed to another location to speak to the parties involved to determine if the conversation poses a credible threat or will lead to any other action.
The school will remain in secure-the-building mode until police have more information.
