UPDATE: Man sentenced in fatal Saskatoon stolen truck crash
A person who was a passenger in a stolen truck that crashed in Saskatoon over the weekend has died from his injuries.
At around 4:20 a.m. CT on Oct. 23, Saskatoon police officers spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen the previous day. Police said that at the time of the theft, a firearm and ammunition were also taken.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the driver took off and a chase ensued. In an attempt to evade police, the driver of the vehicle struck a chain-link fence north of Bethlehem Catholic High School.
A 21-year-old man was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to police, the preliminary investigation found he was fatally injured as a result of the collision.
Four firearms and ammunition were seized from the truck.
The 20-year-old driver was taken into custody at the crash scene.

He is now facing numerous charges including dangerous driving causing death, evading police causing death, possession of unauthorized firearm, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breach of probation. He is expected to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday morning.
The criminal investigation section is still investigating.
SPS said oversight has been appointed by Saskatchewan Justice.
