2 Manitoba teenagers suffer life-threatening injuries after crash near Steinbach

Two teenagers from Manitoba are in critical condition with life-threatening injuries after a crash near Steinbach, Man., over the weekend.

On Saturday around 1:45 p.m., RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Hanover Road about one kilometre south of Steinbach. A car travelling westbound went off the road and rolled in the south ditch, colliding with some trees.

The 16-year-old driver of the vehicle, who is from the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne, Man., was rushed to hospital in critical condition. The 16-year-old passenger, who is from Steinbach, was also rushed to hospital in critical condition. Both suffered from life-threatening injuries.

RCMP said alcohol does not seem to be a factor and both teenagers were wearing seat belts.

The investigation is ongoing.
