Each year, Melanie Alix holds a vigil near the spot where her son Dylan was last seen.
She is still looking for answers eight years after her son disappeared from a home on Edmonton’s south side.
“We’ve been coming here for the last eight years to remind Edmonton that we’re still looking for my son,” Alix said.
The 21-year-old was last seen on Oct.11, 2008.
“We are still struggling, nothing has changed,” Alix said. “We have no new information but we still make this journey to come up and remind the public and anybody who has information who can help us find him.”
Police said Koshman left his home after an argument with roommates and was last seen walking in the area of 33 Avenue and 104 Street around 2 a.m.
He was reported missing to police by his girlfriend four days later. There has been no answer on his cellphone and no activity on his bank account since his disappearance.
Since then, police say the tips have run dry and there is nowhere to go with the investigation.
“We want him home so we can grieve normally,” Alix said choking back tears. “When it’s your family member- someone you love- there’s a constant hole.”

Dylan’s mother says she believes someone out there has the answers to her son’s disappearance.
“We will keep pleading for some information or anything we can find to bring our son home,” she said.
Alix wants them to come forward and give her the answers she so desperately needs.
“If somebody knows something, even the smallest detail and after eight years memories fade and people forget, but we need them to come forward so we can put this puzzle together and figure out where he is.”
To mark the painful anniversary of Dylan’s disappearance, the family is holding a candlelight vigil Saturday at 7 p.m. near the intersection of 34 Avenue and Calgary Trail.
