Man accused of assaulting sister, hitting 2 Saskatoon police officers

A man is accused of assaulting his sister and hitting two Saskatoon police officers, leaving one with minor injuries. File / Global News

Two Saskatoon police officers and a woman were allegedly assaulted late Thursday evening.

Police said they were called to a home in the 1000-block of 1st Avenue North at around 11:25 p.m. CT for a report that a man was assaulting his sister.

When arriving officers attempted to arrest the man, he attempted to flee.

Police said the man then hit both officers in the face before he was brought under control and taken into custody.

One officer suffered a minor injury.

The 21-year-old man has been charged with assault with intent to resist arrest, common assault and breach of an undertaking.

He was also wanted on outstanding Criminal Code warrants.

He is scheduled to appear Friday morning in Saskatoon provincial court.
