The puck doesn’t drop on the 2016-17 NHL season until next Wednesday, but EA Sports is already predicting the Vancouver Canucks will finish last in this year’s standings.

The video game company makes its predictions each year based on game simulations featuring the season’s players and teams found in its annual release of its NHL game.

It’s not just hockey – EA’s Superbowl predictions have been so accurate it’s almost creepy. It has had the winning team right for nine out of the last twelve games.

The daily email you need for 's top news stories.

But it’s not always accurate. In 2011, the company predicted the Canucks would beat the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final. As all Vancouverites are well aware, that didn’t happen.

Now EA is pegging the Vancouver Canucks will hit last place in the NHL in 2017 with only 63 points. They were third to last in 2016.

While Vancouver’s odds don’t look good according to EA, it’s betting the Nashville Predators will face off against the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final.

It says the Predators will win the Cup in game six of the series.
