Red Deer man charged in July crash that killed two teens

An 18-year-old man from central Alberta is facing several dangerous driving charges following a crash this past summer that left two teens dead and three others injured.

The single-vehicle collision happened Friday, July 1 east of Red Deer. Blackfalds RCMP said an 18-year-old man from Penhold and a 16-year-old girl from Springbrook were killed when they were thrown from the vehicle.

Two other people from the vehicle were taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital with serious injuries. A fifth person, who was not thrown from the vehicle, was taken to hospital and released a short time later.

Dylan Beauclair of Red Deer is charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Beauclair was released on a number of conditions, and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Court next month.
