Airdrie RCMP have charged a 35-year-old teacher with the sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a student.
The alleged victim is a 17-year-old girl at George McDougall High School in Airdrie where the accused works as a teacher.
RCMP haven’t released the name of the teacher involved, but court documents identify him as John Christopher Miller, a married father.
Miller appeared in court in Airdrie on Thursday.
The principal at George McDougall High School has sent home a letter to parents informing them of the charges.
Miller has been suspended from Rocky View Schools.
