The Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal and the union representing 300 workers reached an agreement in principle on Monday afternoon.
The Syndicat des employées du Vieux-Port de Montréal are expected to vote on the agreement Wednesday, Oct. 5.
The latest round of negotiations happened in two sessions on Thursday and Monday.
Union leader Konrad Lamour said the agreement will let the workers go back to work with their heads held high.
“We put up a hell of fight against a company that was not showing a lot of leeway,” Lamour said. “[The Old Port] opened up to certain [demands] on Thursday. At this point we feel that we obtained the max we could in this labour dispute.”

Since May 27 union workers have asked for a starting minimum wage $15 per hour and have rejected previous offers from the Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal to increase salaries by 9.5 per cent over four years.

The strike has lasted over 100 days and was in mediation.
On Sept. 3 Old Port workers staged a small protest in Old Montreal to denounce the moderator’s offer to raise minimum wages by 12 per cent over five years with a one per cent indexation on salary structure.
The agreement in principle was negotiated between the Société du Vieux-Port de Montréal and the Syndicat des employées du Vieux-Port de Montréal without a mediator.
Lamour did not want to release specific information on the agreement until the workers vote.
The dispute has paralyzed activities at numerous locations including the Science Centre and the Clock Tower Beach.
