As the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Baltimore Orioles at the Rogers Centre, the “Birds Nest” will be returning to Toronto City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square for baseball fans to cheer on the home team.
“You heard it right! #TheNest in Nathan Phillips Square is back for @MLB #Playoffs2016. @BlueJays vs. Orioles tomorrow night. #OurMoment,” Mayor John Tory tweeted Monday.
Residents at “The Nest” will be able to watch the game on a large HD screen Tuesday starting at 8 p.m.
In order to bring the team’s colours to city hall, officials will illuminate the 3D Toronto sign in blue and white. Food trucks will also be at the square.
The celebration will follow the raising of the Toronto Blue Jays flag on the podium roof at City Hall by Tory, members of city council and the Blue Jays’ mascot, ACE.
Fans will also be able to see some of the extended projects from Nuit Blanche, but there might be changes to previously scheduled events in order to accommodate both events.
