Alberta Health Services (AHS) said Monday the case isn’t a risk to the general public, and all impacted daycare attendees and staff are being notified directly.

The latest health and medical news emailed to you every Sunday.

“Only those notified by AHS are considered exposed to this case. AHS is informing the public as a matter of transparency.”

Officials said further details – such as the name and location of the daycare – will not be released so as to protect the patient’s confidentiality.

Tuberculosis is an infection that occurs when TB germs are inhaled into the lungs.
