RCMP in Nova Scotia say they are investigating after human remains were found in the Spider Lake area over the weekend.
Police say a hunter called 911 around 7 p.m. on Saturday to report the remains. Forensic identification officers were on scene for much of the day Sunday processing the area for evidence.
At this stage, police are releasing very little information. It is unknown if the remains belong to a male or female.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday. RCMP say it could take several days before a positive identification is made.
Police confirm they are currently going through missing persons files as part of their investigation.
In 2014, Marty Legere went missing after failing to return from mountain biking in the Spider Lake area. Police are not making any connection to the remains found and Legere’s disappearance at this time.
