Police have found human remains at the former home of Linda Daniel and her daughter Cheyenne Daniel, who disappeared in July 2011 near Kitchener, Ont.

The mother and daughter were 47 and 13 years old when they vanished five years ago, and were last known to reside in Wellesley Township.

The discovery comes after Glenn Kraemer Bauman was arrested on Aug. 19 in Valleyview, Alta., and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of offering indignity to a body in connection with the Daniels’ disappearance.

Waterloo Regional Police said they were notified by family in December 2015 that neither Linda nor Cheyenne had been seen or heard from since July 2011. The RCMP started an investigation and determined foul play was likely involved.

RCMP said last month investigators discovered Bauman was in a common-law relationship with Linda Daniel around the time she disappeared.

Police and RCMP then identified Bauman as a suspect in connection with the Daniels’ disappearance.

Investigators searched the last known address of the pair, at 3670 Hessen Strasse Rd., with the help of forensic units and confirmed Wednesday human remains had been located at the scene.

Police said they would continue to search the property for the remainder of the week until a warrant expires on Sept. 23.

Autopsies have been scheduled to determine the identity of the deceased but police said the results may take several months to release.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact RCMP at 519-653-7700, Waterloo police homicide investigators at 519-653-7700 ext. 8666 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
