It’s only been a few months since Joy Bradford rescued her one and a half-year-old pit bull, but on Friday, she said, he was the one that rescued her.
According to Bradford, she had a disagreement with her on-again, off-again boyfriend.
The argument escalated to the point where Bradford says he picked up a hammer and threatened her. And that’s when she said, Diesel jumped in.
“Diesel got in between us and I ran to the bathroom and I called 911,” she said.
Bradford said after she called police, her alleged attacker tried to lunge at her once more.

And again, she claims, Diesel stepped in.
“Diesel just jumped and got him,” said Bradford. “He started fighting with the dog and Diesel chased him out the door, into the yard.”
Bradford said after the incident occurred, all she could think about is potentially losing her dog.
