WINNIPEG – The Manitoba government will provide funding for a new soccer field at the Manitoba Islamic Association’s Grand Mosque.
The approximate cost ($131,800) will come from the Community Places program.

The pitch will be built behind the Grand Mosque on Waverley St.
“Our centre and facilities are open to our neighbours and the community and get a lot of use … The neighbourhood will benefit immensely from this project,” said Abdul Aziz, first vice-president with the Manitoba Islamic Association.
