Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo: Meet Carrie Fisher, Christian Slater and more!

The fifth annual Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo kicks off Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. There will be a number of celebrities for you to rub shoulders with including Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher.

Joining her are the likes of Mr. Robot‘s Christian Slater, Harry Potter‘s “Seamus Finnigan” Devon Murray, Star Trek‘s “Q” John de Lancie and The Princess Bride‘s Wallace Shawn. “Inconceivable!” No, he’ll really be there.

Besides photo-ops and autograph sessions, some of the celebrity guests will speak at a spotlight panel, including Fisher and Slater.

If you binged your way through Nextflix’s latest hit Stranger Things and want more, cast members Natalia Dyer and Shannon Purser – who play teenage best friends on the  80s sci-fi thriller – will be taking part in a team photo-op.

Cast members from Ash vs Evil Dead, Power Rangers and Star Trek Continues will also be offering the group shots.

All of the photo-ops are an additional fee, and vary depending on the artist.

Event hostess Emily Expo told 630 CHED there are panels and workshops aplenty, just in time for Halloween.

“Finding out how to make your own costumes, like, maybe you want to dress up like people from Game of Thrones, you could do a workshop on that, or if you want to find out how to get into the comic book industry you could do a panel on that.”

Watch below: Superheroes and celebrities will be out in force at the Edmonton Expo Centre this weekend. The annual Comic and Entertainment Expo got underway Friday afternoon. Tom Vernon reports.

In addition to all manner of collectibles for sale you can find a Play Zone for kids in Hall H. The three-day event at the Expo Centre wraps up on Sunday.

About 50,000 people attended last year’s Expo.
