Oilers Entertainment Group said it’s assessing the number of change stations in Rogers Place bathrooms after a photo was taken and shared of a mother changing her baby on the floor.
Christina Price was at Saturday’s Dolly Parton concert when she went into the women’s bathroom to change her son. There were no change stations in the bathroom, and Price said there were no signs indicating where should could find a change table so she changed her son on the washroom floor.
“Very surprising. My husband and I take our son Henry to many games, we’ve gone to three Eskimo games, you walk into any bathroom at Commonwealth Stadium and there’s a change table in every bathroom,” Price said.
With Price’s permission, Wendy Cotterhill-Devaux took the photo of Price changing her son and posted it on her Facebook page to bring attention to the issue.
“There was no way to get into the bathroom at intermission. The lineups were horribly long,” she said. “I went back to my seat, waited for Dolly to start and went back to the bathroom and came upon this woman, kind of looked around and said, ‘Oh my God, there are no change tables in here,’ offered her my coat but she said she had a change pad.
“When I came back out of the stall, I said, ‘do you mind if I take a picture? This just isn’t right.'”

Cotterhill-Devaux wrote on her Facebook page above the photo, “So where in Rogers Place is a woman to go to change her baby’s diaper? Why are there NO change tables in the women’s washroom?”
Eighteen out of the 68 bathrooms at Rogers Place have a change station, but all of them are inside the family, gender-neutral bathrooms.
Oilers Entertainment Group said the change stations are in the family and gender-neutral washrooms so that either parent can access them with privacy.

There is at least one family and gender-neutral washroom on every concourse.
However, Price said she didn’t see a family bathroom or a sign indicating where they were located.
“The gender-neutral bathroom has a picture of a wheelchair and a picture of a toilet and that’s it.”
Price and Cotterhill-Devaux said they would like change stations to be added to all washrooms.
“I hope that they get on this quickly instead of getting a committee together and deciding if they should this or not,” Cotterhill-Devaux said. “I’m hoping they just jump and get this rectified now.”
OEG said it’s assessing how the change stations are working and is willing to review the issue if necessary.
Price said she was contacted by OEG and told the group is looking into the matter.
