A 23-year-old male driver had to be airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Mississauga Friday morning.

Peel police say officers arrived on scene just after 6 a.m. and located a mini-van lodged underneath a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Syntex Drive and West Credit Avenue.

Fire crews extricated the driver from the vehicle and he was then airlifted to hospital.

Police say he is listed in stable condition.

The intersection was closed for the investigation but reopened just before 11 a.m.
