Man charged after car-school bus collision sends driver, 3 teens to hospital

A 28-year-old Oshawa man has been charged with careless driving after a crash involving a car and a school bus in Whitby, Ont.

Durham Regional Police were called around 8:45 a.m. Monday after a silver Nissan attempted to turn north from the eastbound lanes of Rossland Road East, near Brock Street North, and hit the westbound school bus.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital in serious condition. Three teenagers were also taken to hospital as a precaution, but they have since been released.

Police haven’t released the man’s identity.
