Christmas is more than 70 days away but for Kevin Johnston and his crew the holiday spirit is just gearing up.
He’s busy working on Enchant, which he says is the world’s largest Christmas light maze.
“It’ll be about 55,000 square feet of professionally-designed Christmas displays,” Johnston said.
The Enchant Christmas Light Maze and Market, which will be located between the Cambie Bridge and Olympic Village, puts a holiday spin on traditional corn mazes. In addition to the maze, the space at Crowe Street and West 1st Avenue will also include an eatery and vendors.
The massive maze hopes to find a place alongside other local holiday events like Stanley Park’s Bright Nights Christmas Train and the Vancouver Christmas Market, which will move to its new home at Jack Poole Plaza this year.
“There’s been a lot of talk of Vancouver being the ‘No Fun City’ so we are excited to introduce something that is fun,” Johnston said.
Several charities will benefit from the light maze. It’s set to open to the public at the end of November.
