The B.C. Institute of Technology is warning women about a peeping Tom in the women’s washroom.
Security staff have been on high alert for about two weeks after a man attempted to peek under the stall doors of the women’s washroom in building NE1 on the Burnaby campus, according to a BCIT news release.
Three women noticed the man, and he was scared away.
On Thursday, staff received a second report of a man attempting to take pictures in the women’s washroom. He was also seen looking under the stall doors. He fled when someone yelled at him.
Both incidents are being investigated by Burnaby RCMP, while security patrols have been increased in the area.
“BCIT takes these incidents very seriously,” said the news release. “The safety of our students, staff and faculty is very important and it’s vital that our community feel secure.”
The man is described as being about 50 years old, almost six feet tall, with a medium build, white hair and clean-shaven face.
Anyone with concerns is asked to call campus security at 604-451-6856.
