House auctions are a rarity, but they do happen from time to time, including in the Okanagan.
One home in east Kelowna that was assessed at more than $5 million is going on the auction block later this month.
It’s called Harvest Ridge Luxury Orchard Estate located on KLO Road.
Alex Lambert of the Garage Sale Luxury House company is the one doing the selling. It’s the third luxury home his company has been hired to auction in the Okanagan in as many years. It’s 5,000 square feet of luxury with some pretty impressive views.

“You’re surrounded by the Okanagan with 360 degrees views,” said Lambert. “You’ve got the lake, the orchard.”
The property includes 35 acres of orchard, including a 1900 square-foot caretakers home and a giant shop with accommodations.
Lambert said a place like this in Vancouver would sell for about $20 million. The listing price before it went to auction was $6.8 million.
The market will ultimately dictate the price according to Lambert and with house prices soaring in Kelowna the sellers could be in for a windfall.
“This property — rare and unique and offering these kinds of views, it’s just a rare piece. So, it’s quite likely that we could set a record here,” said Lambert.
The house goes on the auction block September 22 with no minimum bid.
