Manitoba Moose sign two players including forward Patrice Cormier

The Manitoba Moose are bringing back veteran forward Patrice Cormier for another season.

The Winnipeg Jets’ AHL affiliate has signed the 26-year-old to a one-year deal. Cormier finished sixth on the team in scoring last season with 32 points in 65 games. He’s played 264 AHL games over the last five years with the Moose and St. John’s IceCaps. Cormier has logged 61 goals, 62 assists and 389 penalty minutes during that span. He’s also dressed in 52 NHL games.

Manitoba has also inked defenceman Kevin Czuczman to a one-year contract. The 25-year-old London, Ontario product had four goals, 11 assists and 95 penalty minutes with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers last season. Czuczman has also racked up two assists and 14 penalty minutes in 13 NHL games with the New York Islanders.

The Moose open the 2016-2017 schedule with a pair of games in Iowa on October 14 and 15. Their home opener takes place October 18 against the Bakersfield Condors.
