Saskatoon’s Mayfair pool goes to the dogs for ‘Dog Day of Summer’

It’s the third annual “Dog Day of Summer,” with free swimming for Saskatoon’s four-legged friends.

Nearly 200 dogs were signed up to visit Mayfair pool on Monday and the evening session is completely full.

Every participant needs to be well-socialized, vaccinated and licensed in the city.

“It’s awesome, actually. It’s really neat to see the pool utilized in a different way and as a dog owner myself, I like to see the pups running in and out and having some fun and playing with their owners,” said Jody Hauta, the city’s recreation, facilities and programs manager.

The Saskatoon SPCA also held a fundraising barbecue.
