According to RCMP, some of the jewelry taken was custom-made for the victims and featured the brand used by their ranch.

Investigators said the home that was broken into is well off the road and “very secure” with only one way to access the property.

“There were no signs of forced entry and the doors were still locked when the homeowners returned,” RCMP said in a Thursday news release. “A window was found to have been opened in order to gain access but again there was no sign it was forced open.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or contact Crime Stoppers.

Cochrane is located about 20 kilometres west of Calgary.
