WINNIPEG — Construction in the River Osborne area temporarily came to a halt Tuesday afternoon after an old military shell was discovered in the ground.

Winnipeg police shut down the area on the 100 block of Mayfair Avenue around 12 p.m.
After police investigated it was determined the object was an unexploded artillery shell.
The area has since re-opened to traffic.
