A Lake Country crews responded to the fire.

They say a fire investigator will be brought to the scene.

Chief Steve Windsor said  though the fire may have been lit accidentally, it was human caused.

“This is the first one we’ve had, hopefully it’s the last one,” Windsor said.  “If it gets to a more inaccessible area or if we have houses built up above it, it definitely could be a different scenario.”

Windsor said the fire took quite a bit of work to put out and mop up.

He said creosote soaked railway ties don’t catch fire easily, but once they start burning, they burn very hot.
