Canada’s Meaghan Benfeito has won her second medal of the Rio Olympics, capturing bronze in the women’s 10-metre platform event on Thursday.

Benfeito of Laval, Que., finished with an overall score of 389.20.

Her teammate Roseline Filion, also of Laval, placed sixth with 367.95.

China went 1-2 atop the podium, with Ren Qian capturing gold, and silver going to Si Yajie.

This is Benfeito’s first individual medal in Rio after winning bronze with Filion in the 10-metre synchronized event.

The Canadians defended the medal they won at the 2012 London Games.
