Officers consider Berard to be a violent sexual offender who poses a risk to the community.

Berard will be living in the Edmonton area and police said he will be closely monitored by the EPS Behavioral Assessment Unit.

Police urged that releasing this information was in the public’s best interest, not to encourage people to engage in vigilante action.
