Driver of stolen truck runs into fence trying to evade Saskatoon police

Two people are facing charges after the driver of a stolen truck ran into a fence trying to evade Saskatoon police.

It began at around 4:40 a.m. CT Wednesday morning when an officer attempted to stop a truck at Avenue J and 18th Street that had a licence plate that did not match the vehicle.

The driver refused to stop and evaded the officer for a short distance.

Stop sticks were deployed by responding officers, but the driver of the stolen truck evaded them.

The truck then hit a fence in the 300-block of Avenue T South and two people inside attempted to flee.

Police say a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were quickly arrested and are now facing charges.
