A deaf couple from Olive Branch, Miss. is recovering after a violent robbery by three men during a home invasion.

Diann and Jimmy Kelley – whose son translated for the couple – told WMC News the three suspects came into their home through a back window, turned off the lights and then duct taped Diann while they beat Jimmy with their weapons.

“The youngest one came in and duct taped [Diann’s] hands, her mouth and her legs,” translated the couple’s son to WMC.  “[Jimmy’s] hands are swollen. They hit his hands – cause he was trying to cover his head up  – they were hitting his fingers…broke his ribs.”

When the men left, Diann cut the tape off and ran for help.

According to WMC, one of the suspects was found a few doors down, another had fallen through the attic and the third was arrested while coming out of the woods.

However, it wasn’t the first time the three men are accused of attacking the pair.

Back on July 10, the same suspects allegedly tried to rob the couple in their home but Diann was able to scare them off with a gun.

Now, the couple said they are just trying to recover from the incident and are “making it through.”

“She was just hoping this was the last time they’d ever have to go through this,” said the son to WMC.
