RCMP in Halifax have charged five motorists for impaired driving and issued a seven-day license suspension to another driver this weekend.
Police say they responded to two separate motor vehicle collisions on Caldwell Road and Astral Drive in Cole Harbour Saturday night. There were no injuries in either collision but officers charged two motorists with impaired driving.

A traffic stop on Caldwell Road a short time later also resulted in police charging a third driver for driving while impaired.
RCMP were able to lay three additional impaired driving charges following traffic stops along Highway 107 in Dartmouth and Highway 102 in Halifax.
“Impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of serious injury and death on our roadways,” said Cst. Jamall Gray, RCMP.
“Getting behind the wheel after drinking or doing drugs is always dangerous, and the RCMP will continue to search for and charge drivers who choose to drive while impaired.”
RCMP are asking anyone who believes they have spotted a suspected impaired driver to call 911.
