RCMP said a 35-year-old Regina man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital by a STARS air ambulance following a crash on Highway 6 Thursday.
Police said the man was hurt in a “head-on collision” between the southbound pickup truck he was driving and a northbound semi-truck.
The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt and no other injuries were reported.
Police said the vehicles collided about eight kilometres north of Regina.
Mounties said the crash caused diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid to spill onto the highway and into the ditch. Envirotech was called to the scene to clean up the spill.
According to police, investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash but said alcohol was not a factor.
Late Thursday evening, police said part of Highway 6 remained closed and traffic was being rerouted as police investigated.
