WINNIPEG — Tornado warnings that were put in place by Environment Canada late this afternoon have now ended. The first one was issued just after 2 p.m.

Areas such as Treherne, Holland, Cypress River were all under tornado warnings – it doesn’t appear that any region actually had a funnel cloud touch down.

In Winnipeg we didn’t even see a severe thunderstorm watch or warning, and that system missed the city completely. Overnight we do still see a risk of a severe thunderstorm, otherwise there is no rain in the forecast.

That system that produced tornado warnings has moved into the United States and is no longer a threat.

Some areas did see large hail along with high winds, and heavy rain.

Residents in the area are advised to take cover if they see funnel clouds in their area.
