Woman charged with 2nd-degree murder in Marlborough Park homicide: sources

Sources told Global News Saturday that Calgary police have arrested a woman and charged her in connection with the killing of a young man in Marlborough Park in May.

On May 15, officers were called to the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E. for reports of a disturbance and found 24-year-old Tyler Sanderson suffering from serious injuries from an assault. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Last month, police said they were looking for Lori Ann Heavenfire, 34, as they believed she may have had critical information pertaining to their investigation.

Heavenfire was wanted on warrants for breach of conditions.

Sources told Global News Heavenfire has now been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Sanderson’s death.

They also said police will release more information about the case Monday.
