Firearms, drugs found in vehicle after Saskatoon police pursuit

Two people in Saskatoon are facing numerous weapons charges after a police pursuit on Friday.

At around 9:17 p.m. CT, a member of the Saskatoon Police Service recognized a driver as someone having warrants and went to stop the vehicle.

The driver took off and a short chase ensued but was terminated by police.

The Air Support Unit (ASU) was able to locate the vehicle and two people who fled on foot were tracked down and arrested.

Police said they found firearms, ammunition and drugs in the vehicle near Vancouver Avenue North.

A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman are facing numerous weapons and driving charges.

Both were expected to appear before a justice of the peace on Saturday evening.
