Stop sticks brings halt to man trying to elude Saskatoon police

A man who was wanted on several Criminal Code warrants failed to elude Saskatoon police early Thursday morning.

Officers first spotted a vehicle being driven suspiciously just before 3 a.m. CT in the area of 8th Street East and Circle Drive.

Patrol officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however the driver refused to pull over and headed north on Circle.

The driver exited at Warman Road where he was greeted by stop sticks.

He managed to stop before striking the sticks and was taken into custody.

The 52-year-old man has been charged with evading police. He was also wanted of several summary offences, Traffic Safety Act and Criminal Code warrants out of Saskatoon, North Battleford and Corman Park.

He is scheduled to appear Thursday afternoon in Saskatoon provincial court.
