WINNIPEG — A growing video game fad, called Pokémon Go has triggered officers to issue safety warnings over social media.
It’s a new virtual reality smartphone game that leads players on a scavenger hunt of sorts and it’s starting to take Winnipeg by storm.

The game has RCMP and Winnipeg Police taking to Twitter to remind players they shouldn’t be playing while driving.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights hasn’t publicly asked people refrain from playing inside, but officials admit they’re noticing players in and around the museum and they are monitoring it.

This comes as the Auschwitz Memorial in Germany was forced to ban visitors from playing the smartphone game. Several visitors had reported finding Pokemon on the grounds of the former death camp.
