WINNIPEG — With several failed attempts to occupy the restaurant on the Esplanade Riel Bridge, the City of Winnipeg is now trying to make it easier for the current tenant.
Mon Ami Louis, the latest occupant of the space, said they need more parking.
Right now, they have six parking stalls at the foot of the bridge on the St. Boniface side. The city has now said it plans to lease a parking lot to the restaurant for $1 per year.
Currently, the parking lot is owned by the city’s Water and Waste department.
Mon Ami Louis is hoping to add a patio facing the Red River although there is no word on when that is expected to open.
