Ontario man arrested in Halifax pharmacy armed robbery

Hailfax Regional Police have arrested an Ontario man in connection with an armed robbery at the Guardian Pharmacy on Robie Street in March.

Police say a man entered the store on March 9 at about 4 p.m. He reportedly went behind the counter, brandished a knife and demanded cash before running away.

Charles Russell, 32, of Campbellford, Ont., was arrested on Friday at a correctional facility in Milton, Ont.

Russell has been brought back to Halifax and appeared in provincial court Monday to answer to the charges of robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
