MONTREAL – A grade school in Montreal’s east end was ransacked by vandals Thursday, causing thousands of dollars in damages.
Everything that was inside Louis-Dupire school was damaged or destroyed, including chairs, desks, cupboards and computers.
A hose was used, causing flooding in certain parts of the building and cleaning products were dumped on the floors on each storey.

Graffti was scrawled everywhere and emergency exit signs ripped out of the walls.
While classes have been out for over a week now, there has been a lot of movement in the school, with teachers coming and going and tying up loose-ends.
According to police, the vandals most likely sneaked in the building while the door was open and hid inside, waiting for the janitor to leave the premises.
There was no sign of forced entry.
Investigators were at the school Friday, looking for finger prints, taking photos and gathering evidence.
The building was not equipped with surveillance cameras making the officers’ work even more challenging.
