Canada’s Olympic gymnastics team to include Minnedosa woman

Minnedosa’s Isabela Onyshko has won a spot on Canada’s gymnastics team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

The 18-year-old was chosen based on points accumulated the last few months at the 2015 World Championships, 2016 Canadian Championships, 2016 Elite Canada and Gymnastics Canada’s Rio Selection Camp.

Onyshko finished first in this year’s Elite Canada competition. She also captured a silver medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto.

Onyshko trains out of the Brandon Eagles Gymnastics club under coach Lorie Henderson.
