Police say 25-year-old woman found dead in Whitby, Ont., home was stabbed

WHITBY, Ont. — Police say a 25-year-old woman whose body was found in a home this weekend was stabbed to death.

They say Kristina Bennett was found dead in Whitby, Ont., Saturday morning.

Durham Regional police say they made the discovery after a man went to an Oshawa police station and told officers that something had happened to his girlfriend.

Investigators say a post-mortem examination revealed that Bennett died “as a result of being stabbed.”

They say 29-year-old Matthew Coussons has been charged with second-degree murder.
