A Regina man is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly pointed what appeared to be a gun at children in a nearby park.

On Sunday June 26, police were called to the 4700 block of Dewdney Avenue after the parents of two children called police and said that a man dressed in black had pointed what appeared to be a gun at two children, ages 10 and 11, from across the street.

Nineteen-year-old Branson Elijah Mercredi of Regina is charged with possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, two charges of assault with a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

Mercredi made his first court appearance on Monday morning.
