It’s well known at this point that Christina Grimmie‘s killer, Kevin Loibl, had an unhealthy obsession with the former The Voice contestant, but now new details are emerging, showcasing how deep his infatuation ran.
Twenty-two-year-old Grimmie died after being shot by Loibl following a performance in Orlando on June 10.
At a news conference held last Friday, police officials said Grimmie was shot around 10:45 p.m. local time at The Plaza Live, where she had performed with the band Before You Exit earlier that night.

Police said Loibl shot Grimmie after her show while merchandise was being sold and autographs signed. Officials also said that Grimmie’s brother tackled Loibl, who then shot himself.
In a police report, Loibl’s friend Cory Dennington revealed further chilling details about the man he knew for 15 years.
Dennington said that Loibl believed Grimmie was his “soulmate,” and the two were destined to be together.
“He said Loibl would not entertain the idea that his plan would not work, and when Dennington did, he threatened to end their friendship,” a police report stated. “Loibl never elaborated on what he would do if he met Christina, but he referred to her as his ‘soulmate.'”
Liobl, previously an athiest, suddenly became interested in Christianity after learning that Grimmie was of that faith. He said to Dennington that she “helped him to see the world in a different way,” and once said that if God did exist, he “has seen it in her.”
Grimmie’s killer also underwent a physical transformation — hair implants, laser eye surgery, a 50-lb. weight loss and teeth whitening — entirely for the singer, according to Dennington.

TMZ obtained a police report that revealed Loibl had been in trouble with the law for two violent incidents before this murder, and on both occasions, wasn’t arrested.
Grimmie was laid to rest in New Jersey on June 17. Maroon 5 frontman and one-time Voice mentor to Grimmie, Adam Levine, paid the funeral costs.
