Enbridge customers to get break on gas bill of 7 per cent; about $63 a year

TORONTO — Residential customers who buy from Enbridge Gas Distribution will be getting a break on their natural gas bill.

Enbridge has received approval from the Ontario Energy Board for new rates, effective July 1.

Enbridge says a typical residential customer will see a total bill decrease of about seven per cent, or $63 a year.

The decrease is a result of a lower cost adjustment charge, which reflects the difference between forecast costs and actual costs from prior periods.

This decrease is partially offset by higher natural gas prices in North America, and changes to Enbridge’s 2016 distribution rates.
