Winnipeg Jets lock up goalie Michael Hutchinson

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets have signed goalie Michael Hutchinson to a two-year contract extension worth $2.3-million.

Hutchinson became a restricted free agent after his two-year, $1.15-million deal expired. His new contract has a salary cap hit of $1.15-million per season.

The 26-year-old racked up a 9-15-3 record in 30 games this past year. He also had a .907 save percentage and 2.84 goals against average.

Hutchinson has played in a total of 71 NHL games – all of them with the Jets. He has a career record of 32-26-8 along with a .912 save percentage and a 2.53 goals against average.

Hutchinson was originally signed by the Jets as a free agent on July 19, 2013. He was selected in the third round, 77th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
