The battle to win the hearts and minds of British Columbians in the Northern Gateway debate is heating up again.
An animation that was posted on the Enbridge website showed the proposed tanker route from Kitimat, but failed to include about a thousand square kilometres of islands.
This came to light when Lori Waters, an independent scientific data visualization specialist from Vancouver Island, posted images on her Facebook page, showing what Enbridge was missing from their animation.
The pipeline company says it’s made it clear that the image is for illustrative purposes only.
Critics still claim it is simply another example of misleading information from the company wanting to ship oilsands bitumen to China.
Watch the video from Enbridge. A caption on the video says ‘this animation is for illustrative purposes only.’
