The east sidewalk has been closed for the same reason, but will reopen Friday.

“The east sidewalk is significantly narrower than the west sidewalk, so what we’re asking is that, over next month or so while we finish the project, people do use caution,

“Cyclists, if they can ring their bell, slow down as required, dismount if you need to. Pedestrians, same thing, listen for the bells of the cyclists, stay to the right if you can as you cross the bridge.”

The west sidewalk is expected to be closed for about a month. It will reopen during the Canada Day long weekend but close again Monday, July 4.
