Calgary massage therapist charged with sexually assaulting co-worker

Calgary police have charged a former police officer, who is a registered massage therapist, with assaulting a co-worker at a local massage therapy clinic.

The victim told police she was sexually assaulted by the accused as he gave her a therapeutic massage on Friday, March 4.

Officers arrested Vladimir Siloci, 36, on June 10. He has been charged with sexual assault and is scheduled to appear in court on July 11.

Calgary police said Siloci was a former officer with the service.

“I can confirm that he was a Calgary Police Service officer during April 2012 until February 2016,” Det. Shelly Dunn said.

Dunn went on to say Siloci left the force on his own accord.

Investigators said Siloci worked out of four massage clinics throughout northwest Calgary and operated his own massage therapy business.

Executive director of the Remedial Massage Therapists Association (RMTA) Pamela Bernard confirmed Siloci is a member of the organization. She told Global News they had received a complaint about him which they are investigating, but wasn’t able to comment further.

The RMTA has been in Alberta since 1977 and has 1,000 members in Alberta.

The Calgary Police Service is using the incident to encourage victims of sexual assault to call the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
